Amfiteater – Journal of Performing Arts Theory is a scientific journal that publishes original articles on a broad spectrum of performing arts from drama theatre, drama, dance, performance art and hybrid art forms. Authors can analyse the form and content of artworks and art phenomena from the field of performing arts, their history, present and future, as well as their relationship to other art forms and the broader (social, cultural, political…) context. The journal was founded in 2008 by the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana. Since 2015, it is co-published by the Slovenian Theatre Institute, while still remaining an academic scientific journal with two issues a year.
