Archive

The archival collection includes legacies of Slovenian theater artists, organized by name and password. It is unique material that richly illustrates Slovenian theater history. Typologically, it consists of the personal folders of Slovenian theater actors, their correspondence, personal documents, manuscripts, records, as well as general and official files related to them, and on top of that, all theater-relevant material that the theater actors themselves collected during their lifetime.

The transparency and accessibility of the material is ensured by catalog cards, which are based on computer processing and a digital approach in recent times.

It also belongs to the archive collection Hemeroteca, a collection of newspaper clippings. It covers the period from 1963 to the present day and is regularly updated. Until 1980, the articles in the collection are organized according to the chronological principle, and from 1980 until today, the chronology is subordinated to the genre or the name of the specific theater.

A special group are biographical articles about theater artists, arranged alphabetically.

One of the archival collections is also a digital database of current productions in Slovenian professional, semi-professional and non-institutional theater, on the basis of which the institute compiles and publishes Slovene Theater Annual.

Repertoire – digital base, edited by SLOGI on the SIGledal.org portal, includes a detailed inventory of these productions in the last 150 years of Slovenian theater history, from 1867 onwards.
