Nominees' Day at the Slovenian Drama Week (TSD) is an event dedicated to the overall presentation of the nominees for the Slavko Grum Award for the best dramatic text, which will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the 48th TSD, on April 8 in the Prešeren Theater in Kranj. This year, 36 dramatic texts were submitted to the Grum Prize competition. "This year's competition is surprising, because the submitted texts are determined by two recognizable features: the return of the classical dramatic form and the turn to the intimate world," said Dr. Mateja Pezdirc Bartol, president of the jury for the Grum Award. The jury determined nominee of the 48th TSD for the Slavko Gruma award for the best Slovenian dramatic text:
Rok Vilčnik – rokgre for work Bigger than all
Vinko Möderndorfer for texts: Romeo and Juliet were refugees and Sisters.
The design of the festival (half) day, which is entirely dedicated to the best texts of new Slovenian drama, is aimed at presenting the authors and opens up space for a dialogic questioning of the state of original drama in the Slovenian theater space, its staging, interpretation and development. The nominees' day thus consists of reading performances of the nominated dramatic texts and guided conversations about them, where they will participate Juš A. Zidar and Sebastian Horvat (for the text of Romeo and Juliet), Matej Kokol and Primož Ekart (for text Bigger than all), Buckwheat Waltz and Luka Marcen (for work Sisters).
Concept design: Rok Andres. Directors of reading performances: Mojca Madon and Maša Pelko. Members of the PG Kranj ensemble and AGRFT drama students perform. Conversation leader: Ana Perne, SLOGI.
The event is being prepared by: Slovenian Drama Week, PG Kranj, SLOGI and AGRFT UL.
