New issue Amphitheater, journals for performing arts theory, brings a diverse conglomerate of texts, both in terms of topics and genres. The volume is introduced by four essays, the topics of which range from a reflection on the avant-garde through the prism of relations between the center and the periphery of Central and Eastern Europe (Prof. Dr. Tomaž Toporišič) to an analysis of the diverse multilingual theatrical activity of Carinthian Slovenians as a theatrical and cultural-sociological phenomenon (Prof. Dr. Andrej Leben) to theatrical pedagogy (Dr. Irina Lešnik Jeras) and an analysis of the youth drama of Andrej Rozman Roza (Prof. Dr. Milena Mileva Blažić).
The discussions are followed by an extensive interview with director Iztok Tory (prepared by Primož Jesenko, MA) and an essay by Jana Pavlič about the opera. Nixon in China, which compares it with other (con)texts.
The issue concludes with reviews of the proceedings Speech and space, written by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boris Kern, and monographs Theaters and war Zale Dobovšek, which is the work of Jakob Ribič.

New issue of the magazine Amfiteater were presented on December 14, 2023 at the Slovenian Theatre Institute by the editor-in-chief of the magazine Maja Murnik, PhD in collaboration with the authors of two articles in this issue Prof. Dr. Mileno Milevo Blažić and Dr. Irino Lešnik Jeras.
A journal for the theory of performing arts Amfiteater was founded in 2008 by the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana.
The journal is included in MLA International Bibliography (Directory of Periodicals), Scopus and DOAJ. The journal is classified as a class A scientific journal according to the classification of the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Research.
