Literacy for theater, professional education in the 2024/2025 school year

The Slovenian Theatre Institute regularly conducts professional training courses for professionals in education, training and culture. The content of the programs focuses on the history and heritage of theatre, creative teaching of drama, the possibilities of using theatre pedagogy and theatre literacy in general.

We are planning the following training courses in the 2024/25 school year:

Theater under the microscope (in collaboration with the Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana)

A comprehensive and high-quality visit to the theater with children and young people begins with an appropriate selection of a quality performance and with the development of theater literacy. During the training, we will take a close look at the theater and test creative approaches for effectively integrating theater visits into lessons. The presented innovative methods also encourage cooperation, social inclusion, communication and the expression and acceptance of different points of view, which is also useful in other areas of pedagogical work.

Appointment: Strokovno usposabljanje v skupnem obsegu 24 ur (1,5 točke) bo potekalo v popoldanskem času. Prvi srečanji bosta 15. in 16. oktobra od 14.30 do 18.00.

Creative approaches to teaching literature

Participants will learn about modern ways to introduce literary texts to children and young people through flexible learning forms and interdisciplinary approaches, and to use artistic techniques to encourage reading, creative writing, storytelling, visual, movement and other artistic expression.

Contractors: Sandra Jenko (theatre pedagogy), Eva Kraševec (creative work with text), Dejan Srhoj (movement expression), Jerca Cvetko and Jure Engelsberger (kamyshibai)
Appointment: The training, totaling 16 hours, will be conducted in two full-day sessions during the school holidays (probably at the end of June or the end of August 2025).
