February 13 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of actor, theatre, film and television director and pedagogue Jože Babič. Various events are taking place in numerous places in Slovenia and abroad to mark the anniversary of the birth of this important Slovenian artist. In preparing the events, we have joined forces with: the Municipality of Hrpelje-Kozina, the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Activities, the Slovenian Cinematheque, the Museum of Slovenian Film Actors, the Slovenian Film Centre, the Slovenian Theatre Institute, the Gorica Cinematheque, the Kosovel House in Sežana, the Divača Development Centre, the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor, the Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica and the Slovenian Permanent Theatre in Trieste.
At the Slovenian Theatre Institute, we will talk about Jože Babič with guests at a discussion on Tuesday, February 21st at 6 pm. from a critical and theatrological perspectiveThe following will participate: Bogomila Kravos, theatre scholar and independent researcher, Mojca Kreft, dramaturge and theatre scholar, Jernej Novak, theatre critic and theatrologist, and Anton Peršak, director and author of the book Between Reality and Imagination (about director Jože Babič)The discussion will be moderated by Ana Perne, a theatre scholar from the Slovenian Theatre Institute.
