In recent years, we have noticed a decline in the publishing of drama texts in the programs of book publishers. Among the reasons we can mention the changed publishing policy, the decline of publishing, the transition from the classic book form to the online one, and we could list them all. The lack of book editions has been largely mitigated by Slovenian theaters, which have been responsible for the publication of staged drama texts in theater lists for the past three decades.
Among the theatres that published drama texts was the SNG Nova Gorica. They most often chose to print works by Slovenian authors or classic works from the history of dramatic literature. Over the three decades, they also accumulated quite a few translations of modern classics (J. Giraudoux, F. Dürrenmatt) and contemporary authors (R. Schimmelpfennig, O. and V. Presnjakov, D. Vojnov, B. Srbljanović).
