Slovenian theater yearbook 2017/2018 is the 31st sequel Repertoarja Slovenian theatres 1867‒1967, which was first published on the centenary of the founding of the Dramatic Society (1967), and is the twenty-sixth continuation of the Slovenian Theatre Yearbook, which has been published regularly under this name since 1994.

New this year, the first after a quarter of a century of publication, is a content enrichment with a boutique theater genre, with a radio play on Radio Slovenia in the season in question.

The Slovenian Theatre Yearbook 2017/2018 is based on an online database of Slovenian theatre production (on the portal www.sigledal.org). But it also significantly upgrades the data collected there – with introductions, information on festivals and awards, with information on reruns and tours, with a summary and comparison of data between specific theatres (in a statistical table). It shows 222 detailed premiere performances and 283 reruns of Slovenian institutional, non-institutional and also more prominent semi-professional theatres and theatre groups. Even in the season under review, the number of premieres shown by formal statistics is unrealistically high. Namely, it includes as many as 35 co-productions, which is slightly less than the season before, but some of them are triples. This means that the number of premieres is realistically 187. Until the last season, it was noticeable that attendance had been slowly falling over the last decade and reached approx. 880,000 spectators last year. In the last season, however, it rose sharply again to 976,000. In addition to attendance and premieres, the statistical table provides other numerical data on individual theaters in horizontal rows, and the vertical rows provide summaries of the national production in the 2017/18 season: the total number of all plays, the number of Slovenian authors played, the number of foreign authors played, the number of premieres, reruns, guest appearances, and all repetitions.
