We present to you the collections of SLOGI – Theatre Museum. In April 2021, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Škofja Loka Passion, we present a painting commissioned by the Slovenian Theatre Museum in 1967 by Boris Kobe and on display in our permanent exhibition In Pursuit of a Theatre. From the Jesuits to Cankar.

Passion of Bishop is the oldest fully preserved dramatic text in the Slovenian language with additions in Latin and German, and the oldest fully preserved director's book in Europe, according to which the Passion is still performed today. The famous manuscript, written by the Capuchin Lovrenc Marušič, Father Romuald (1676–1748), is kept by the Capuchin Monastery in Škofja Loka. In 2021 we celebrate the 300th anniversary Škofja Loka Passion PlayIt was probably performed as early as 1715, and certainly on Good Friday in 1721. At the end of the 18th century, the Passion Play was cancelled, then adapted and re-performed in 1936. The next performances, according to the original record, were in 1999, 2000, and since 2009 the Passion Play has been performed every six years, until the corona virus prevented the performance in 2021. Since 2016, Passion of Bishop inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
