The fiftieth book of Taras Kermauner's extensive research Reconstruction and/or reinterpretation of Slovenian drama is third in the sub-niza Dialogues. It consists of public letters, mainly to the author's (former) friends, among them Vital Klabus, and from a dialogue it evolves into a polemic on the fundamental premises of this undoubtedly unique study of Slovenian drama. The author's increasingly personal note shows a marked tendency to personalise, perhaps even privatise, the subject of the research. However, Kermauner remains faithful to his scientific method, which "uses" not only Slovenian drama, both older and contemporary, but also all that the author, on the horizon of his "other theology", the theology of the Other, considers to be an important component of the contemporary Slovenian spiritual image. The book also contains analyses of some plays or dramatizations, such as Marjan Tomšič's drama Jesus Crucified (1997) as Erjavec's dramatisation of Slomšek's Blaise and Gretel in Sunday school.
