Nova publikacija ob ponovnem odprtju SLOGI Why already? Performances of Slovenian dramatic texts and dramatizations (From the 1999/2000 season to the 2012/2013 season, Modernity, But, Work, Views) avtorice Vesne Jurca Tadel, ki je izšla v zbirki Dokumenti Slovenskega gledališkega inštituta.
Collection of criticisms Zakaj že? avtorice Vesne Jurca Tadel usmerja pozornost na zapise o uprizoritvah slovenskih dramskih besedil, ta fokus pa razširja z zapisi o uprizoritvah, nastalih na podlagi dramatizacij tujih besedil izpod peresa slovenskih ustvarjalcev, kot tudi z nekaj avtorskimi predstavami po izboru avtorice.
The selection of texts testifies to the situation of Slovenian theatre production in the period between 1999 and 2013, during which the author was simultaneously present in the magazines Sodobnost and Ampak, in the newspaper Delo, and in the biweekly newspaper Pogledi as an agile companion of theatre events in Slovenia and abroad.
The almost one and a half decade from 1999 to 2013 may not seem too distant from the vantage point of 2020. This very fact also resonates as an exclamation point, as a look at the current media position of theatre criticism (and art criticism as a whole) leads us to be contrite at the "chronological" fact of how abruptly the position of theatre criticism in the media and spiritual climate of Slovenia has deteriorated and continues to sink.
The efforts of decision-makers clearly do not go beyond declarative phrases. The importance of professionally reliable theatre criticism, which is also specifically pointed out by the author of the accompanying study, Dr. Lado Kralj, seems increasingly redundant.
In this sense, the collection bears witness Why already? also about a time when the conditions for theatre criticism were still established in a way that can be felt today as an unattainable ideal.

Vesna Jurca Tadel se je po diplomi iz dramaturgije na AGFRT zaposlila v MGL, kjer je bila v sezonah 1991/2 in 1992/3 tudi v. d. umetniškega vodje. Njena zasnova repertoarja je veljala za inovativno in komunikativno.
Leta 1999 je začela za revijo Sodobnost pisati o uprizoritvah slovenskih dram, med 2003 in 2011 pa prispevke za rubriko Gledališki dnevnik.
Od 2003 do 2006 je za Delo pisala o predstavah v SNG Drama Ljubljana, v sezoni 2006/2007 pa za revijo Ampak eseje o gledališču v rubriki Ves svet je oder. Od leta 2010 do 2013 je pisala za štirinajstdnevnik Pogledi. V knjigi je objavljen izbor približno tretjine vseh njenih kritiških zapisov.
Leta 2007 je bila predsednica žirije Borštnikovega srečanja, med 2007 in 2011 pa članica žirije za nagrado Kresnik.
Ukvarja se tudi s prevajanjem, med drugim je v angleščino prevedla več dram Vilija Ravnjaka, Boštjana Tadla in Matjaža Zupančiča.
Leta 2013 je kritike nehala pisati zaradi novih službenih zadolžitev na Ministrstvu za kulturo, kjer je zaposlena.
