Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, the adopted measures and recommendations of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, and at the suggestion of the board of directors of Slovenian theaters, the Borštnikovo srečnje Festival, in agreement with the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Maribor, made the difficult decision not to hold the central part of the festival with the competition program and this year's festival edition ends on Friday, 16 October 2020 with the awarding of the Borštnik ring to Petar Boštjančič and the performance Flaming water in the performance of the ballet of the Croatian National Theater Ivana pl. Zajca from Reka (HR).

Oder, a show about contemporary theatre: 50 years of Borštnik's ring, public broadcast of the show, 3rd program of Radio Slovenia - ARS. The first show is dedicated to the recipients, and the second to the recipients of the Borštnik ring. With excerpts from audio-recorded performances, archival recordings in which several recipients of Borštnik's ring appear, as well as anecdotal and factual anecdotes.

Sensory in the theater – on the trail of smells in everyday life and beyond, an international conference. The aim of the symposium is to encourage research and discussion about the sensory in theater culture and to spread the wings of theory and reflection also on the poetics of the senses of the Colombian theater director Enrique Vargas and his followers. The aim is also to connect contemporary sensory theater and culture with Victor Turner and his "crossing of the threshold that separates two separate areas, one related to the pre-ritual or preliminary status of the subject, and the other to its post-ritual or post-liminal status".

Tribute to the giants of the Slovenian theater, portraits of recipients of Borštnik's ring, opening of the exhibition. The exhibition of the first series of portraits within the project, which the author Marjan Platovšek will continue in the following years with the faces of other recipients of the highest actor award for lifetime achievement in our country.
