Nominee Day 2022

Nominees' Day Slovenian Drama Week is an event where texts nominated for the Slavko Grum Award are traditionally presented.

The festival (afternoon) day is entirely dedicated to the best texts of new Slovenian drama, and the purpose of the event is to present the authors and create a space for dialogical questioning of the state of original drama in the Slovenian theater space, its staging, interpretation and development.

The jury, consisting of Vesna Jevnikar (chair), Jakob Ribič and Tomaž Toporišič, nominated the following from the twenty-nine texts submitted to the Slavko Grum Award this year:

a logocentric comedy for seven girls about particles, revolution and theatre Jere Ivanc,

World pain Aljoša Lovric Krapež,

Sediments Catherine Morano and

The story of the copper king Urše Majcen.

Reading performances and dramaturgical interventions will be accompanied by mentoring Prof. Nataša Barbara Gračner, Prof. Sebastian Horvat, Assistant Professor Nina Žavbi and Prof. Tomaž Toporišič prepared by AGRFT students, directed by Pine tree Ravbar and Jernej Potocan, playwrights Nik Žnidaršič, Ula Talija Pollak, Tilen Cloud, Nina Kuclar Stiković, Luna Friday and Tajda Lipicer, actresses and actors Mojka Koncar, Jan Slapar, Mina Schweiger, Stefanija Suite, Matevž Sluga, Suzana Krevh and Nika Manevski.

A discussion with the nominated authors and the author will follow. Jero Ivanc, Catherine Morano, Urso Majcen, Aljoša Lovric Krapež and invited professional playwrights Petro Pogorevc and Here is KraševecThe discussion will be led by theatre scholars Ana Perne (SLOGI) and student of dramaturgy and performing arts Brina JencekThe event will also be significantly shaped by the audience, who can share their vision of the texts with the participants.

Nominees Day has become a recognizable platform that helps raise awareness of the importance (and relevance) of new drama.

Nominees' Day is an event in collaboration with the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, the Slovenian Theatre Institute and the Prešeren Theatre Kranj.
