Furioso Archive and Theatre as a Museum, exhibition opening and publication presentation

Museum Institute, who made a decisive contribution to the introduction of visual arts and contemporary dance into Slovenian performing arts in the 1990s, celebrates its 30th anniversaryIn addition, the Slovenian Theatre Institute and the Muzeum Institute co-published the book by director, producer and curator Barbara Novakovič. publication with a title Theater as a musej. Accompanying exhibition Arhiv furioso in the Hall of the Slovenian Theatre Institute covers the performance history of the Muzeum Theatre from 1994 to 2024.

The extensive archive of documents and references includes an encyclopedic collection of three decades of the Muzeum Institute's performance (theater and dance) and exhibition work. The authors' contributions follow the Muzeum Theatre phenomenon, which was conceived (after the first performance of Čriček v pesti in 1994) as a study of the relationships between image and word, space and time, movement and gesture, music – and the transformations revealed by the structure and, ultimately, the table of contents of the publication. Since 2000, Muzeum has participated as a partner in numerous international projects, and in Slovenia it has produced ever-new production platforms and trilogies at a variety of venues, both in collaboration with members of the original team and with ever-new generations of actors and dancers (1999–2024).

You are cordially invited!
