We present to you the collections of SLOGI – Theatre Museum. In January 2021, on the occasion of the passing of the exceptional theatre artist Dušan Jovanović, we present a photograph of Dušan Jovanović from a rehearsal for a performance directed by him Wall, lake, which made its stage debut at the Ljubljana Drama Theatre in 1989.
The great practitioner and thinker of theatre and society, Dušan Jovanović (1939–2021), theatre director and playwright, as well as the founder and artistic director of theatres, who also taught for many years at the Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television and, as an author, signed numerous essays, columns, television scripts and much more, significantly marked the Slovenian space and the space of the former common state with his rich creative work and also received numerous awards for his work. Among these is the Grum Award for Text Wall, lake, a genre hybrid, enigmatic play of an intimate nature, which was first performed at the Ljubljana Drama Theatre in 1989; the production directed by the author – the photo was taken during one of the rehearsals – received the Borštnik Award for the best overall performance. A famous stage production that has been permanently imprinted in the memory of many viewers.
