Slovenian Theatre Institute (SLOGI) invites you to professionals in education, training and culture 16 hours of professional training Creative Teaching of Drama.
Participants will learn about theatre and drama pedagogy techniques for a flexible, interdisciplinary and creative drama teaching. The focus will be on three dramatic texts in comics, produced in the framework of the project Classics in the Graphic Novel, and on how they can be used in the context of lessons. Selected dramatic works will also set in the context of theatre history.
The training will be delivered by Sandra Jenko, theatre scholar and curator educator, and Dr. Horowitz - Ciril Horjak, author of the comic strip King Ubu or the Poles.

Friday, 24 February 2023, from 14.30 to 18.30:
• Creative approaches to teaching drama and theatre history
• Interweaving literary and visual expression: drama in comics
Saturday, 25 February 2023, from 9.00 to 17.00:
• Ancient Greek theatre: Sophocles, Antigone
• Elizabethan Theatre: William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
• Theatre at the turn of the 20th century: Alfred Jarry, King Ubu
Professional training is included in Catalogue of continuing education and training programmes for education professionals (KATIS) of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia. Participants in the professional training will receive a certificate issued in accordance with the provisions of Rules on the promotion of employees in education to titles and will be able to claim it in an application for promotion, and is Valued at 1 point.
