KLASIKI V STRIPU

Drama is a literary genre and at the same time a performance model. The essence of dramatic writing is dialogue – a two-way conversation, an exchange of opinions. Through dialogue, contradictions are created, expressed and reconciled, harmonies are created, differences are accepted, interpersonal relationships are built, fundamental human and human truths about the world, the place and role of man in it are expressed, ... Since its beginnings in ancient Greece, drama has been a universal space for dialogical reflection on fundamental human values and interpersonal relationships.

In the period 2019 – 2023, the Slovenian Theatre Institute, together with partners from Poland (Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute, Warsaw) and Slovakia (Theatre Institute, Bratislava), is coordinating an international project Classics in comics: An exemplary model of innovative cultural and artistic education in high schoolThe project is co-financed by the European Union's Creative Europe Programme and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.

V projektu so izšli trije stripi:

  • Alfred Jarry: King Ubu (avtor stripa: Ciril Horjak/dr. Horowitz)
  • William Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet (avtor stripa: Juraj Martiška)
  • Sophocles: Antigone (avtor stripa: Daniel Chmielewski)

Vizualni umetniki, avtorji stripa

Cyril Horjak (1975), slovenski vizualni umetnik, v svetu stripa znan tudi kot dr. Horowitz, je že konec osemdesetih let dvakrat zapored prejel prvo nagrado na natečaju mladinskega avtorskega stripa v Novem Sadu (Srbija). Konec devetdesetih let je začel objavljati stripe v najbolj znani slovenski reviji Stripburger. Novembra 2003 je izdal svoj prvi stripovski album Ride. Leta 2011 je za svoje delo na področju izobraževanja prejel nagrado Andragoškega centra Slovenije (ACS, 2010). Je ilustrator in karikaturist za slovenski časopis Večer, kjer je začel ilustrirati leta 2007, odtlej pa je zanj ustvaril že preko 1000 ilustracij. Za svoje časopisne ilustracije je prejel tudi novinarsko nagrado za izstopajoče dosežke Društva novinarjev Slovenije (DNS, 2017). Gostuje na številnih slovenskih šolah in fakultetah, kjer predava o stripu. Sodeluje z mladimi z avtizmom in vodi različne delavnice, je zaželen pripovedovalec zgodb na mnogih festivalih in prireditvah. Njegove ilustracije so objavili tudi ugledni časopisi, kot so Politiken, The Guardian, The Chicago Tribune, Le Monde or Die Zeit.

Juraj Martiška (1969), Slovak visual artist focuses on book illustrations, freehand painting and graphic design. He has illustrated numerous textbooks and books for children and young people. In 1990, with his debut Samar Island (Samar Island) began publishing comics in the magazine Believe me! (Believe). Since 1992, the magazine Light (Bright) published many comics, such as the original comics Great friend (Great friend ), King Michael's worries (The Age of King Michael) or Space pilgrims (Space travelersHe also collaborated with the magazine Little bee (Bee) and with magazines AH and Researcher (Researcher). Juraj Martiška has received numerous awards, including the Ludovita Fulle for his achievements in books for children and young adults and multiple awards The most beautiful books of Slovakia (Sútež Najkrajšie knihy Slovenska) and The most beautiful children's book (The shortest children's bookInternational Board of Books for Young People (IBBY – International Board on Books for Young People) included his works in the prestigious 2012 and 2020 Honor Roll (Honor List).

Daniel Chmielewski (1983), poljski avtor stripov in otroških knjig. Napisal in ilustriral je strip Jaz, Nina (I, Nina), priredbo romana dobitnice Nobelove nagrade Olge Tokarczuk Anna In v grobnicah sveta (Anna In w grobowcach świata). Leta 2018 je bil strip izdan na Poljskem, leta 2021 je načrtovan še izid v ZDA pri založbi Uncivilized Books. Daniel Chmielewski je avtor stripovskega albuma Voajerji (Voyeurs), ki ga je ilustriral Marcin Podolec in je bil objavljen na Poljskem in v Franciji. Je ilustrator kratkega stripa Zadnji roman Jamesa Joycea (The last novel of James Joyce) Petra Milligana in skupaj s psihiatrinjo Katarzyno Szaulińsko soavtor stripa Črni valovi (Czarne fale) – stripa, ki prikazuje, kako se spoprijeti z depresijo, in ki je namenjen najstnikom na Poljskem ob posebej pripravljenih šolskih delavnicah. V treh kulturnih centrih v Varšavi poučuje stripovsko pripovedovanje, izdeluje snemalne knjige za televizijo in ilustracije za pomoč pri delu športnih psihologov.
