An excerpt from a production based on a text by Denis Diderot and stage adaptation by Pierre Fresnay and Jacques-Henri Duval. It was recorded on June 21, 1966, at the Ljubljana Drama Theatre, by former actor, stage manager and sound engineer Branko Starič.
The production was directed by Miran Herzog, and featured the later bearers of Borštnik's Ring: as I, i.e. philosopher Diderot Boris Kralj, and as He, i.e. nephew of composer Jean-Philippe Rameau Aleksander Valič. The latter achieved a special acting breakthrough with this role and received the Prešeren Fund Award in 1967 for a creation that was "full and constantly alive in its content and form transfiguration".
