We announce the publication of the monograph in September 2022 Theater Möderndorfer in the publishing house of Forum Ljubljana and co-published by the Slovenian Theatre Institute, which, in the words of the author of the introductory essay, Blaž Lukan, "works as a kind of 'amphibian': as an 'object' and a 'system' at the same time, that is, as a tangible and sensuously illustrative phenomenon of theatre that can be 'taken in hand', and as a system of theatre thinking, that is, an 'object' that can (also) be thought of."
At the beginning of Vinko Möderndorfer's directing career, the play King Gordogan based on the text of the Croatian surrealist poet Radovan Ivšić. “I was still at the academy when Janez Pipan, who was then the director of the Glej Theatre, suggested this text to me. And so I directed my first performance in my life in the Poljane hall,” Möderndorfer recalls of the creative challenge from 1980, and continues: “Many years later (actually recently) a theatre acquaintance told me that he remembered the performance King Gordogan", that he was at the premiere and that it was a completely ruined performance. It's a shame, he said, that you didn't do any more shows like that later."
