The 80th issue of Documents, published by the Slovenian Theatre Museum in cooperation with the Trieste publishing house Mladika, publishes a longer essay by Marjan Pertot, a fellow Trieste resident. In it, the author discusses amateur theatre activity in Prosek and Kontovel in the period 1863-2004. The book summarizes an interesting but little-known area of Slovenian theatre creativity in the Trieste region, which has been defying various pressures for more than a century and has raised awareness in the Slovenian national community that theatre, even amateur theatre, is a place for affirming national identity.
