In his first autobiography, Dr. Primož Kuret, a great figure in Slovenian and European musicology, sits in the parterre in front of the scene of his life in order to relive the most beautiful and bitter moments. In this way, we get to know the author's childhood marked by war, his great emotional closeness to his father, academician Niko Kuret, and his creative high school years; we walk with him through cosmopolitan Vienna and look behind the scenes of intellectual frictions at home. From the parterre is a sincere and sparkling record of a life that, despite all obstacles, remained written in art, and at the same time is also a valuable testimony to the eventful twentieth century in Slovenia and Europe.
The book was co-published by the Slovenska matica and the Slovene Theatre Institute.
