On March 27, World Theater Day, the Slovenian Drama Week traditionally begins in Kranj. Since 1979, the Slavko Gruma prize has been awarded for the best Slovenian original dramatic text. Playwright Matjaž Zupančič has so far received the most Grum Awards - five - for his works Vladimir, The Naked Pianist or Little Night Music, Walkto, Class and Shocking Shopping.

Matjaž Zupančič is a black comedy Naked pianist written on the order of the City Theater of Ljubljana, where it was staged for the first time in April 2001. The production was directed by the author, and Boris Ostan played the title role of Adamovič.
