September 2019 marks the 100th anniversary of the revival of the Slovenian National Theatre after World War I. After four years of "theatrical silence", the theatre season in the building of today's SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana began with the staging of Finžgar's play The Wild Hunter (September 29, 1918). Another milestone was the staging of Jurčič's Tugomer, as this was the opening performance on the stage of today's Ljubljana Drama Theatre (February 6, 1919) and marked the (still valid) spatial separation of the dramatic and operatic repertoire.
