The jury for the Borštnikov prstan (Janez Hočevar, Mojca Jan Zoran, Vinko Möderndorfer, Metod Pevec, Alja Predan) decided that the 2014 Borštnikov prstan will be awarded to the actor Vlado Novak.
The expert jury of the 49th Festival Borštnikovo sročnje (Jasen Boko, Tomasz Kubikowski, Barbara Orel, Tea Rogelj, Petra Vidali) wrote in their report: "Amelia Kraigher, the selector of the 49th Festival Borštnikovo sročenje, included 11 plays in the competition program; we only saw 10 of them at the festival for objective reasons.
The competition program of Borštnik's meeting represents the most relevant, the best that has appeared on Slovenian stages. Of course, theater production fluctuates, one season its bera is richer, the other more rebellious. This year's selection is somewhat more modest compared to last year's, although it also shows stability and vitality.
The jury awarded the Grand Prize of the Borštnik's Meeting festival for the best performance to the play Svatba directed by Jerne Lorenci and performed by the Slovenian National Theater Drama Ljubljana.
The award of the Society of Theater Critics and Theatrologists of Slovenia (DGKTS) for the best production of the 2013/14 season went to the production of Mrtvec pride po ljubica by Svetlana Makarovič, directed by Jerne Lorenci and performed by the Prešeren Theater in Kranj and the City Theater in Ptuj.
