Slovenian radio drama: a rich tradition – and a future?

Slovenian radio drama has a rich tradition. Radio Slovenia, with its unique production in Slovenia, has always had a high reputation abroad. This is evidenced by awards in the past and in the present. However, its competitiveness abroad is not reflected in the domestic space in a relevant way. The primacy of radio in the past was lost a long time ago. Numerous Slovenian and foreign creators of various professions have contributed to radio drama. The radio archive contains over three thousand plays of very diverse genres, which listeners can still hear. However, they are listened to less and less in the traditional way. A look back, an overview of the present moment, and a look into the future in the field of Slovenian radio drama will be presented to you by radio guests Ales Jan, director and educator, Irena Glonar, director, Igor Likar, director, Klemen Markovčič, director, and Vinko Möderndorfer, director and writer. The conversation will be moderated by radio dramaturge Vilma ŠtritofRadio Slovenia will record it for the Ars Forum program, which is broadcast every Wednesday by the Ars program and is dedicated to current topics in culture.
