Slovenian museums, together with ICOM Slovenia, will once again celebrate the International Museum Day MMD 2021, which this year is dedicated to the theme The future of museums: recovery and new challenges. Throughout Slovenia, museums and galleries will mark International Museum Day with free entry and plenty of various events.
In the Slovenian Theater Institute - Theater Museum, we also join the commemoration of International Museum Day with an open day.

In Pursuit of a Theatre. From the Jesuits to Cankar, permanent exhibition, individual tours
The permanent exhibition vividly presents the beginnings and central trends of theater in Slovenia, its involvement in European cultural events and its role in the formation of Slovenian national consciousness.
Families, children, young people and even the elderly can visit the permanent exhibition with theater worksheets.

We will also participate in URBAN GALLERIES OF POSTERS OF SLOVENIAN MUSEUMS on the subject The future of museums: recovery and new challenges, which was prepared by ICOM Slovenia in cooperation with the company Tam Tam. The exhibition consists of thirty-five posters that will between May 18 and 24 in different locations around Ljubljana encouraged to visit museums. This year, we combined the posters in virtual booklet.

International Museum Day – May 18
Already in 1977, the International Museum Council ICOM marked May 18 as International Museum Day, with the aim of increasing the visibility of museums in society and its development.
