Matjaž Zupančič, The Naked Pianist or A Little Night Music
The 27th of March, recognized as the World Theatre Day, traditionally marks the opening of the Week of Slovenian Drama in Kranj. Since 1979, the end of the festival is the occasion when the annual Slavko Grum Award for the best Slovenian original drama text is bestowed. Until this day, the largest number of Grum Awards – five – have been presented to Matjaž Zupančič – the awarded plays include Vladimir, The Naked Pianist or A Little Night Music, The Corridor, The Class and Shocking Shopping.
Matjaž Zupančič wrote the dark comedy The Naked Pianist at the commision of the Ljubljana City Theatre where its first staging was presented in April 2001. The performance was directed by the author of the play himself. Boris Ostan appeared in the leading role of Adamovič.
