First public tour of the Space in Space exhibition

We would like to invite you to the first public tour of the new exhibition. Space within space. Scenography in Slovenia until 1991 under the guidance of the exhibition author Ana Kocjančič, M.A. On Sunday, April 28, 2019, at 11 a.m., in the National Gallery Exhibition Hall (Prešernova cesta 24, Ljubljana). The exhibition Space in Space: Scenography in Slovenia until 1991 shows the development of scenography in Slovenia from the 19th century until Slovenia's independence in 1991. It is the first comprehensive overview of Slovenian scenography, presenting it from a historical, stylistic, artistic and theatrical perspective. It brings a new perspective on the history of fine arts and the history of theatre in our country. More about the exhibition

 

The author of the exhibition is Ana Kocjančič, M.A.

Art historian Ana Kocjančič (1977) completed her postgraduate studies at the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana in 2006. Scenography in Slovenian drama theaters between the two world wars (1918–1941). She was a professional collaborator in the field of scenography and theater technique in the preparation of a new dictionary of theater terminology and co-author of the published publication (2007, SAZU, Ljubljana). She is currently an external professional associate of the Slovenian Theater Institute. He researches the history of Slovenian scenography, its connection with the development of Slovenian fine art and the influence of European theater movements and European fine art on its development. She is the author of articles and television and radio programs about the development of Slovenian scenography at home and abroad, and the author of an extensive monograph SPACE IN SPACE – Scenography in Slovenia from the 17th century to 1991, published by the Slovenian Theater Institute in the collection Documents.

 

He prepared the exhibition Slovenian Theatre Institute in collaboration with The National GalleryThe construction was carried out with technical cooperation Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.
