Booklet – Fragments from the life of drama actor Peter Ternovšek
Life is made up of short moments and the artistic path is a journey of small steps, and any attempt to see and understand one or the other as a whole is in reality doomed to failure. Which is absolutely nothing wrong with – Peter knows this very well. Just as he knows about the peace of morning walks, the poignancy of songs and the heartbeat of stage boards. He knows that he will never fully understand everything he has experienced; that meaning and beauty are more at home in feelings than in reason. That is why his book must be a Booklet. Because truly great artists are humble, modest and… small in their relationship to art (and life).
Boštjan Narat Meden, editor
"The booklet communicates that it is a small version of what is usually understood as a book. Its message is precisely that it does not want to communicate anything big, only small things that come to life for a person. Speeches, on the contrary, are a kind of magnifying glass. The book does contain a few speeches that the author gave, especially at the openings of various events, and to these longer forms he added short, sometimes even simple, remarks as a contrast and complement. And all the other genres in which he spoke about his work, most often interviews. Speeches are simply a label for all types of speech about one's own work, speech here is what reflects creation."
