We are presenting our collections. In March 2021 we dedicate to Tomi Janežič, the Prešeren Fund Award winner 2021 and Equus – his first professional theatre direction
This year, the theatre director TOMI JANEŽIČ received one of the Prešeren Fund Awards, the highest state recognition for outstanding artistic achievements. He received it for the performances no title yet and Seven Questions About Happiness that he created after he has in recent years become a r emarkable theatre name abroad, in Russia or Norway.
Recipient of numerous Slovenian and foreign awards, Janežič obtained his BA and MA degrees at the Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, where he is currently employed as professor. He specializes in the field of psychodrama and also established himself internationally as an expert in various acting techniques. He has been researching the art of acting since 1996, the year of his professional debut as a director: according to the critic Vladimir Kocjančič, the staging of Peter Shaffer’s Equus by Janežič “showed all the maturity of his y outh with his first dir ection.”
