The Ko\u010devje Regional Museum has prepared an exhibition in the Ko\u010devje Art Salon. <em>Homage to Milan Butina<\/em>, and the artist&#039;s jubilee is marked by exhibitions at the Slovenian Theatre Institute - Theatre Museum, the Stane Kregar Gallery (at the St. Stanislav Institute in \u0160entvid) and the Hest Gallery in Maribor.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition <strong><em>From our collections: Milan Butina, scenographer<\/em><\/strong> at the Slovenian Theatre Institute \u2013 Theatre Museum focuses on <strong>The artist&#039;s scenographic work<\/strong>We exhibit at it <strong>a selection of sketches from the period between 1951 and 1967<\/strong>, which represent scenographic designs for twenty-four productions \u2013 seventeen were staged at the Ljubljana City Theatre, one each in Celje, Trieste and Kranj, and four remained unrealized. Scenography draft: Milan Butina; kept by: Ikonoteka SLOGI \u2013 Theatre Museum.\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p><strong>Milan Butina<\/strong> (November 21, 1923, Ko\u010devje \u2013 June 24, 1999, Ljubljana) is considered the founder of art theory in Slovenia. However, Milan Butina did not work \u201conly\u201d as a painter and art theorist, but was also a theatre man. As a painter and set designer, he joined the Ljubljana City Theatre in 1950, where he was later employed as a technical manager between 1962 and 1967. As a set designer (and often also a costume designer), he co-created more than ninety productions, not only at the Ljubljana City Theatre, but also at the Ljubljana Youth Theatre, the Slovenian National Theatre in Trieste, the Slovenian National Theatre Drama Theatre in Maribor, the Celje City Theatre, the Pre\u0161eren Theatre in Kranj, the Ljubljana City Puppet Theatre and the Ljubljana Opera.
