Voranc by Dane Zajc and 50 Years of the Week of Slovenian Drama

We are presenting our our collections. In September 2020 we are presenting a photography of the performance Voranc by Dane Zajc, in the direction by Mile Korun (SNT Drama Ljubljana, première 16 January 1980). In the photo: Štefka Drolc (Neža), Polde Bibič (Voranc).

The Week of Slovenian Drama is one of central cultural events in Slovenia. It significantly encourages Slovenian drama writing and at the same time takes care of its recognition and promotion abroad. At the festival edition in 1979, the first Slavko Grum Award for the best original drama play went to Dane Zajc for his poetic drama Voranc. Its first performance, in the staging of the SNT Drama Ljubljana, took part at the Week of Slovenian Drama in 1981.

Prešeren Theatre Kranj, Slovenian Theatre Institute and Gorenjska Museum Kranj, in collaboration with the Ars programme, would like to draw attention to the 50th anniversary with the exhibition The event is here, you have an event in town! You are kindly invited to visit it at Gorenjska Museum where it will be open until 27 September 2020.
