Under the auspices of the International Association of Theatres for Children and Youth ASSITEJ March 20 we celebrate World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People.
In a statement, ASSITEJ President Sue Giles stressed that one of ASSITEJ's main goals is to bring together creators around the world and to strengthen and equalize opportunities for all children and young people to experience theatre. On this World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People, she particularly calls on all those working in this field to seek out young audiences who are not yet familiar with them, who for social, geographical or other reasons have not had access to theatre, and to enable them to come into contact with performing arts that can bridge the gap between reality and imagination.
