Co-author of the exhibition: Aurora Rosales
Realized with the help of the Spanish State Society for Cultural Activities Abroad (SEACEX), the Embassy of Spain in the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.
The Slovenian Theater Museum opened an exhibition of the Spanish photographer Rosa Ribas, who devoted his career primarily to theater photography. Ros Ribas is a theater person to the core, co-founder of Barcelona's Lliure theater and official photographer of too many theaters and directors, from Lluis Pasquale to the Frenchman Patrice Chéreau and the Italian Giorgio Strehler; he also photographed Pandur's performance Pekel, which greets visitors to the exhibition at the door.
The Spanish ambassador, Anunciada Fernández de Córdova, is convinced that in these photographs, beyond the documentary value, pure theater can really be felt, and the co-author of the exhibition, Aurora Rosales, said that the selection from the huge opus is themed according to playwrights and not chronologically, which offers the viewer the opportunity to compare different a poet of directors who tackled Shakespeare, Lorca, Chekhov, Koltés and other great theater authors. According to the director of the Slovenian Theater Museum, Ivo Svetina, the relatively small exhibition space gives the exhibition a certain drama and density that would be lacking in a larger setting.
