Andrej Leben: Between tradition and innovation: Contemporary Slovenian theater in Carinthia, book presentation

The book by Andrej Leben, a young researcher from Klagenfurt, is connected in time to Maja Haderlap's work Med politiko in kulturo (2001), in which the author discusses the theater and the cultural and political practice of the Carinthian Slovenes after the Second World War until 1976. In his research, Leben thoroughly devotes himself first of all, the development of individual theater genres, from verbal and puppet theater to music and dance theater. At the same time, it also analyzes the cultural, political, social, psychological and regional factors that shaped Slovenian theatrical creation in Austrian Carinthia, and especially the newer forms of cooperation between Slovenian and German-speaking theater artists.

The book was published by the publishing house Drave from Klagenfurt.
