Aleš Jan's book HEAR THE PICTURE, SEE THE SOUND - The history of radio play in Slovenia deals with the history of radio play in the Slovenian cultural space from its beginnings to the present day. Is "a hybrid between historicizing, theorizing and testifying about this important medium and genre of Slovenian contemporary verbal and media art," as written by the reviewer dr. Tomaž Toporišič. About the book, M.Sc. Matej Venier, author of the foreword, wrote: "The Slovenian radio game is at a turning point, when it will either disappear like a snake's tail, or it will get new incentives and start addressing the slehernik in its existential dimension to a greater extent. The work of Aleš Jan /…/ is presented to the public at a significant time, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Radio Slovenia, /…/ and perhaps at the last moment, when the modern Slovenian radio play still has a continuous and direct connection with its artistic and developmental achievements throughout its ninety-year history . Jan's book is an indelible monument to the Slovenian radio game and the artistic production of Radio Slovenia, and it will undoubtedly help the creators of the Slovenian radio game to find the right answers to the problems in which it found itself."
The book was published in cooperation with Radio Slovenija on the 90th anniversary of its operation and is published with the financial support of the Public Book Agency of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.
Both authors will participate in the presentation of the book Ales Jan and the author of the foreword M.Sc. Matej Venier, responsible editor of the 3rd program of Radio Slovenia - Ars program. The conversation will be moderated by the editor of the book Anja Rosker.
