Set design sketches by Milan Butina (1923–1999)

Academic painter and stage designer Milan Butina created set design (and sometimes also the costume design) in more than ninety Slovenian professional theatre productions in years 1951–1973. He worked predominantly at the Ljubljana City Theatre. In July 2018, the Slovenian Theatre Institute received a gift of 30 set design sketches and a set design maquette from the legacy of Milan Butina. The artefacts were donated by Darja Butina, the daughter of the artist.
